This is my second bowl made using the wheel. It is was my second wide and short bowl I have made. It is circular with about three different colors of glaze on it. This bowl is unique because of the blue glaze, it is the new "blue clear glaze" and it had turned out very well, adding great color to the outside of the bowl. And the pink color found on the rim is stain that i had used to emphasize the rim and to help by giving the bowl an eye pleasing shape.

This is my first bowl that I made using the wheel, that is very short and wide. It is circular with about two different colors of glaze. The "new clear blue glaze" i used on the inside of the bowl and the outside did not turn out as a dark of color as i was hoping. The blue color is very light and shows the shape of the bowl, while the black heart carved in the centered and the black dipped rim, give the bowl contrast and emphasizes the rim and heart. The colors balance each other out giving the bowl a very soft loving feel competed with the heart found carved into the bottom.
This cup is very unique by its thick walls and carved lines on its outside walls. This cup was created by using the wheel and many personal, original, ideas. It is circular, but is wider on the bottom then at the top. It has one color of glaze you can see, but when i glazed it i had put black glaze around the rim and where i carved out the lines on its outside walls. This cup is unique because of its horizontal lines carved on the outside to its very thick walls (that I could have pulled up higher). The carved of lines give the cup an emphasize to the shape of the cup, especially drawing your eye to the bottom half of the cup. The cup is quite small but fits good in your hard with an texture caused by the glaze and carvings.
This cup is probably one of my favorite cups i have made. I created this cup by using the wheel. It has a circular shape. There are about three different colors on this cup. It does not have the best shape on its wall around its rim, but it has a very good base. The footing is very persistence and clean with a good form a shape that gives the project good balance. The glazing technique i used was to use colors that will help emphasize the cups shape by giving it a good contrast between the colors and shape.
This is my cup with a pulled handle. I have only made one of these. I created this cup by using the wheel and used a triangular shape piece of clay and the hard plaster table to throw it to a handle shape. This is one of my favorite pieces of artwork, I call it my “teacup". It has about three different colors of glaze that i used but it looks like four colors because the yellow and blue glaze melted together in the glaze kiln causing the colors to mix, creating a green color. My favorite art and design elements I included in this project was the very simple shape of the cup and handle itself but with very good colors that emphasis the cups great shape but with the colors that contrast nicely but also give the project a good balance.
This is my first vase i made using the wheel. It is circular, expect its rim is wavy. The vase's rim gives the project a unique shape by giving emphasis to the rim. The one color of dark brown glaze, give the vase balance. The one dark color and the shape of the vase contrast each other giving texture to the rim but by still keeping its shape and colors simple to give the project a good value. The vase has a very small shape that gives it a small personal feel, but is to small to hold any flowers.
This is my third bowl, it was created by using the wheel. It is circular, but small. The width of the bowl is about 3 and 3/4 inches wide and the heigh of the bowl is about 2 1/4 inches tall. It has about four different color of glaze. The black glaze emphasizes the appearance of the bowl and evens the bowls appearance with the rest of the colors. This is a bowl created by using the wheel. The bowl is circular. It has about three different colors of glaze on it. On the side with the yellow glaze, the glaze had crawled. The crawled glaze feels smooth, bumpy and at the same time rough. The crawled galze empathized the texture of the bowl. The parts of the bowl were it did not crawl, is smooth. The bowl is about 4 1/2 inches wide and about 2 inches tall. I can not wait to see how putting a coat of clear glaze on it changes its texture and appearance. |
