This project is a bowl i made using the wheel. This bowl has a flat base that i had sanded before it was fired in the bisque kiln. I had sanded it instead of footed it because I had been absent the day I was supposed to foot it and by the time i was back at school it was to hard to foot. I glazed it by dipping it in different colors of glaze and also using the technique of dripping glaze with a pippet inside of the bowl only on half. A skill i learned from this project was how to center again from last year because i am way out of practice. Some art elements shown in this bowl are texture and value. Texture is used on the outside of the bowl where the glaze had ran and made the bumpy and bare stops of the side of the bowl. Value is used with the different colors of light and dark glazes and how they emphasize each other. A design element I used was contrasting the different colors of glazes and the different techniques i used from the dipping to the pippet. This project was sort of a rough draft for the many projects i have to come.
