Here is another plate I created using the wheel. I originally started with a ball of clay smaller then a fist. I then centered it on the bat and continued to pull out the side to give it its circular plate look. Skills I used to create this project was the centering and evenly pulling out the sides and trimming when they became the slightest bit uneven. This project was originally dipped in black then allowed to completely dried. Later, it was spotted with blue drop of glaze from a dropper that did end up running in the glaze kiln. I tried a new technique of dipping in a very dark color(the darkest we have offered) then mixing a way lighter color of top(blue). Originally I was not sure on how it would turn out but I am very pleased the black glaze allowed the blue glaze to show and not completely take over. Art elements used in this project was color that ended up giving contrast to the plate because it allowed for a unique visual texture when you look at it and see the runny dots of blue. This project shows how I like to take chances with experimenting with the colors of the dark black and mixing it with a much lighter glaze color.
