This is a plate I made using the wheel and then later sanding the bottom after the clay was dry. I was absent the day I was supposed to foot this project so I improvised and instead sanded the bottom to help smooth it out. This project was glazed with black and blue glaze. Originally it was dipped half in black then later blue was painted on the other side and also overlapped the black a little bit. This time unfortunately there was not enough blue glaze to dip the project in. But next time I should dip the project into the blue color instead of painting it on. With the black and blue colors used to glaze the project they very much complimented themselves with the unity and harmony they go together. In this project the colors were also used to give the project so texture and giving the project some sense of balance between the two colors that divide the plate in half. This project is important to me because I had tired a new technique when glazing of overlapping then to hopefully give it an ombre look. Skills I used to create this plate was making sure the clay was centered the whole time so I could pull it out without getting an uneven plate.
